In SanskritSummary
Philosophical treatise on those who follow a path of ascetic renunciation called saṃnyāsa. The work identifies two types of saṃnyāsa: the first dealing with liberation of the Self (mokṣa) after death, vividiṣasaṃnyāsa or renunciation of the seeker, and the second with the liberation of the Self while living (also known as jīvanmukti), vidvatsaṃnyāsa or renunciation of the knower.
