Summary
This manuscript is a copy of the Fuero Real, the legal code promulgated by Alfonso X during his reign in the second half of the thirteenth century. Written in northern Spain during his reign, the text is written in a round textualis script and decorated throughout with colored initials. The four book divisions are marked with large colored initials, and a table of contents at the beginning of the volume lists the titles within each book. A fourteenth-century reader added marginal glosses in cursive script.
