Fragment of the Qurʼān including the end of al-Furqān, all of al-Shuʻarāʼ and the beginning of al-Naml (25:63 to 27:58).

Binding

Bound in reddish leather over pasteboard with flap. Front cover blind stamped with central medallion composed of seven small florets with radiant lines; blind stamped frame of sets of parallel lines and repeating geometric design along the outside edge. Back cover is badly water damaged. Flap hinge has been reinforced with black textile.

Layout

7 long lines with top and bottom line written larger.

Decoration

Gold florets with red and blue dots mark verse endings. Circular marginal medallions in gold, blue and red mark text partitions. Sūrah titles in gold. A piece of paper with the title for al-Furqān in gold has been added to the bottom of the last leaf (f. 33r).

Script

Written in naskh in black ink; pointed, vocalized.
