The printed pamphlet argued on behalf of the royal court remaining in Valladolid, although the monarchs had left the city due to an outbreak of the plague (Matthias Gloël). The manuscript response, attributed to "Democrito colerico" and supposedly printed by Damian Gordo (f. 1r), consists of 24 pedazos (excerpts), each followed by commentary. The final pedazo includes copies of signatures of doctors Mercado, Onate, and Gomez de Sanabria (f. 83r), who also signed a relación addressed to Reyna Margarita in Valladolid in 1602 (British Library, Add MS 28424). BAS enclosed in a circle, with triangles of three small circles pointing outwards from the bottom and both sides and a triangle of six small circles at the base of a cross on top. 89 leaves : 197 x 135 (162 x 90) mm bound to 202 x 147 mm Paper, 89 leaves; [i-ii, 1-87], modern foliation in pencil, lower right recto. Collation could not be determined. Written in 18-19 long lines. Written in Spanish cursive script.
