The small miniature in the lower margin of fol. 128v, almost a duplicate of a larger version of the Crucifixion on the previous folio, was placed there for the priest to kiss as part of the celebration of the Eucharist; one often finds two images of the Crucifixion at the Canon of the Mass so that the larger, more beautiful miniature would be preserved from the wear of repeated kissing Paint in small miniature on 128v is severely worn; several tears in parchment have been sewn with thread Structure of first and last quires unclear, two stubs between fol. 6 and fol. 7 and stubs conjoined with fols. 263 and 264 appear to be bound into the back inside cover De Ricci, Seymour, with the assistance of W. St. Anthony is identified as "n[ost]ro p[at]rono." 8r Temporale, beginning with the first Sunday in Advent and continuing to the Eve of Pentecost 124v Proper Prefaces to the mass (including Christmas, Pentecost, and Epiphany), ending with the Creed and Gloria 127r Canon of the Mass 130r Temporale, beginning with Pentecost to the 24th Sunday after Pentecost, and ending with masses for the Dedication of a Church and the Dedication of an Altar 177v Sanctorale, beginning with Feast of Saint Andrew and including feasts for Emperor Henry II and his wife Kunigunda, Wolfgang of Regensburg, Wenceslaus of Prague, and Bishop Otto of Bamberg 253v Masses for Special Intentions and assorted additional feasts, including the Vigil of the Annunciation (f. 262r). Written area 256 x 167 mm, ink ruling, pricking visible; two columns of twenty-five to thirty-four lines; first leaf consists of a single column of thirty-two lines; leaves are foliated in upper margins with alphabetical letters and numerals, fifteen leaves per letter from a-i, ten leaves per letter from k-t; u has five numbered leaves before foliation stops at fol. 248r. Contemporary blind stamped calf over wooden boards, a circular stamp with a flowering pot with lozenge shaped compartments on the sides, rebacked, with clasps. [Per Pfändtner, stamps are identical to those of a Nuremberg Augustinian convent datable from 1501 to 1526] Inside the front cover is a Post-It note reading, "T. F. Richardson Lectionary German 14th Century or early 15th. 261 ff. 1 large min. See page 121-122 Small min. recto f. 128." Other inscriptions in front cover include "N 26," "M 1350" and "No. 5." Pasted to the inside of the back cover is an auction catalogue description in German.
