Summary

This is a letter written to David Berlin in 5528 (1767-8; Berlin assumed rabbinical duties circa January 1768) by Mordekhai ben Jakob ha-levi Bonn, a physician from of the Altona-Hamburg-Wandsbek community who was at the Leipziger Messe (Leipzig trade fair), who was contacting Berlin as he was in need of a letter of recognition from the rabbi to present to the Leipzig authorities. Bonn insists that the letter was important imminently (possibly needed by other Jewish vendors at the Leipziger Messe) and notes that he is sending all monies earned to his wife (in Altona).
