18th-century panels of white satin over canvas, embroidered in colored silk, gold and silver wires and bands, sewn on a velvet cover; oval medallions of painted vellum, Virgin on upper cover mostly rubbed away, angel and child on lower cover; 2 metal clasps.

Architectural title page with painted arms (p. iii); full-page decorative monogram painted in several colors (p. v); 7 vignettes of female figures with associated animals representing the seven deadly sins, with colored floral frames (l'orgueil, p. vi; l'avarice, p. 8; la luxure, p.18; l'envie, p. 33; la gourmandise, p. 47; la colere, p. 65; la paresse, p. 70); 7 3-line illuminated initials in gold over patterns or colored miniatures (p. 1, 8 (over miniature of garden), 18 (over miniature of rural landscape with city on horizon), 34 (over union of the charges on the shields of the arms on p. iii), 47 (over lion rampant), 65, 70 (over miniature of Saint Francis); 1-line initials and rubrics in red.

Script

Written in roman letters by the calligrapher Colomiés (inscription, Colomiés scripsit, p. iii).
