Laid paperBinding
Bound in thin red leather over card, cut in an octagonal shape with a gilt stamped, teardrop-shaped medallion with a flower motif, and gilt frame. Spine is loose from covers, but has been repaired by paper hinges from the doublure. Endbands in white and blue stripe in chevron pattern.Layout
Decoration
First opening has dual page illuminations of flowers in red, blue, and gold around al-Fātiḥah and the beginning of al-Baqarah (f. 1v-2r). On all other pages, the textblock has a cirucular border rule in gold, black, blue; sūrah titles are in gold ink; verse endings marked by a gold dot.
