Summary

Manual written by two friars from Evora and Cuba, towns in southeastern Portugal, each with the additional ecclesiastical title Definidor (in Latin, definitor), on judicial process in trials of clergy or religious. The manual is in 34 numbered sections, each with the heading Advertencia (reminder or observation), usually followed by one or more forms for procedures such as petitions and appeals. Unrelated 19th-century notes on costs for maize and flour added on endpapers and flyleaves, as well as the names Feliciano Joze Cardozo, Amadeo Joze Cardozo, and Joāo Cardozo Alarve.
