Summary

Manual for the use of Carlo Centurio, member of the prominent Centurio family of Genoa, as an official of the Inquisition. 25 chapters address charges such as polygamy, witchcraft, blasphemy, possession of prohibited books, and various specific heresies, and procedural instructions for false testimony, interrogation, and torture. Following the 25th chapter is a Latin treatise on witchcraft trials (p. 129-152) that was published by the Camera Apostolica in 1657 and circulated independently. Discoloration from ink oxidation on some leaves, especially the title page (p. iii).
