Summary

Collection of a large number of alchemical and medicinal preparations, some with the names of famous men attached, e.g., Glauber (f. 2v, 78v), Paracelsus (f. 9v), Matthiolus (f. 17r), Fernel (f. 23v), Galen (f. 26v), Mynsicht (f. 30v), Hippocrates (f. 46v), Sydenham (f. 79r). Alphabetical index to preparations on f. 122-140. Many of the recipes stem from an "officina Mülhausiana" (f. 27v, today Mulhouse), see the initial "M" and the note "Mülh" throughout. Others are marked "G" or "Gen," probably for Genève.

• Dates in text: 1720 (f. 81r), 1719 (f. 81v), and "paratum mense Aprili 1722 Genev" (f. 82r). A printed dealer's description pasted inside upper cover gives date 1784, but the description does not fit the contents of this volume.

Pen-and-ink illustrations of distallation apparatus "distillatio chymica de cornu cervi" (f. 19r), "distillato chymica de viperis" (f. 48v) and "rectificatio" (f. 50v).
