254 letters relating to the administration of Avignon, largely sent from Avignon by Cardinal Paluzzo Altieri, legate of Avignon 1670-1677 (f. 1-218); Carlo d'Anguisciola, Vice-Legate 1673-1676 (f. 219-251); Monsignor Giaconto Libelli, archbishop of Avignon 1675-1684; Monsignor Mustio Estense Giuseppe, papal nuncio; Michele Zaccharia and others to Michele Antonio Vibó, Abbot of Rivalta Torinese, governor of Carpentras and the Comtat Venaissin at the time of writing (under papal rule, 1664-1688), and later Archbishop of Turin. Letters discuss crime and the administration of justice, commerce, relations with the court of the Kingdom of Savoy in Turin, quarrels of the local nobility, and urban privileges, among other topics.
