Summary

Collection of papal letters and instruments respecting privileges of the Friars Minor of Metz, France, compiled by Petrus de Vincentia. In two parts: f. 1r-15v and f. 16r-58v. Comprised of letters and bulls of Popes Innocent VII, Pius II, Paul II[?], Sixtus IV, Eugene IV[?], and Innocent VIII.

Contemporary blind-stamped leather over wooden boards. Inside upper cover has a 4.5 cm. diameter circular hole. One clasp intact.

Layout

Written in 23-24 long lines; ruled in ink; prickings visible.

Decoration

12-line penwork initial in brown ink (f. 1r); 10-line penwork initial in brown ink (f. 16r).

Script

Written in a Gothic cursive script by a single hand, with notarial statement and owner note in two different hands (f. 59r-59v).
