Summary

Remedies arranged alphabetically in dictionary form. They were compiled from a number of sources including Nicolas Andry de Bois-Regard, Johann Helfrich Jünken, Digby (possibly Sir Kenelm Digby) and Jean Béguin's Tyrocinium chymicum -- a reference to this work is made inside upper cover as well as within the text.

Foliation

Paper, 229; 1-25, 27-99, 102-153, 156-233, 235, contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto; [1-229], modern foliation in pencil, lower right recto. Folios 26, 154-155 appear to have been torn out; there are a few blank folios between sections. First and last gatherings are detached; inside upper corner of last 6 leaves torn away with some loss of text.

Contemporary calf, gilt spine with letter 'A' in second compartment. Hinges are fragile, particularly the upper hinge.

Written in a cursive script, primarily by one hand.
