Summary

A French dialogue between Pope Innocent XI (16 May 1611- 11 August 1689; pope 21 September 1676 - 11 August 1689) and Saint Peter at the death of Innocent, when he wishes to enter heaven and must give an account of himself. His entry into heaven is refused. Followed by brief satirical Latin and French epitaphs for Innocent.

• Title from caption title (p. 1); title on title page (p. v) reads, La chambre dai comptae d'Innocent XI, Dialogue auvc Saint Picvre et le Pape à la porte du Paradis.
   
• Title page includes the date September 1679, which would place the work early in Innocent XI's tenure; it is possible if the later suggestion, written in pencil inside the front flyleaf, that M.C. La Chambre (d. 1669) is the author is rejected.
   
• Dialogue, p. 1-92: Innocent: O di casa, o di casa, que sont donc ses Guichetier? ... [Innocent] vite et essayés d'obteni[opono?] moi misericorde.
