Summary

Small manuscript used as a kind of pocket reference guide for reading into the future through omens (śakuna) and by performing various procedures to please the Hindu deity Nārāyaṇa (a form of Viṣṇu). Text seeks to foresee trouble of various kinds (such as dishonesty in others) and how to obtain bounty and fortune. Attributed to a figure named Jñāneśvara.

Written in 9 lines per leaf.
8 leaves foliated 1-7, [8], upper left and lower right verso. Folios turn left to right like a Western book and all writing oriented in the same way, top to bottom.
Mistakes blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins. Additional notes in a second hand, possibly of a former owner written at the end, in a messy, cursive script.
Non-Latin script record.
