Small manuscript for private or public recitation or prayer, venerating and worshiping the one thousand names of the Hindu goddess Gaṅgā, the personification of the Ganges river, considered both a heavenly and earthly body of water. Promotes the benefits of bathing in this river, which is sacred to Hindus and especially to the followers of Śiva. Presented as a dialogue between the deity Skanda and the legendary sage Agastya.
