Summary

Text used in public or private recitation and prayer, employing mantras in worship (pūjā). The first part of the text (f. 1-21) is devoted to listing one thousand names of the Hindu deity Viṣṇu such as Bhagavan, Vaṣaṭkāra, Suvarṇabindu, and Rathāṅgapāṇi among others; the second part of the text (f. 1-17) is devoted to mantras praising the deity Rudra (a Vedic form of Śiva); this text is also known more commonly as the Rudram or the Śatarudrīya from the Yajurveda. Manuscript consists of two separate text with independent foliation, but are by the same scribal hand, using the same paper. Poleman only identifies the first part of the work and refers only to its 21 folios, but mentions the red accents found exclusively in the second work.
