This is an English manuscript from the twelfth to the thirteenth century, containing various texts in different hands, which includes: the Canticum canticorum; Peter of Limoges' de Oculo Morali; Ogerius de Lucedio's Planctus Beatae Virginis Mariae; Publilius Syrus' Sententiae; Seneca's De beneficiis; Pseudo-Seneca' ad Gallionem de remediis fortuitis; Johannes Chrysostomus' De reparation lapsi; Pseudo-Bernard of Clairvaux's Exceptiones super meditationibus de interiori homine; Hugh of Saint Victor's Commentarium super Regulam Canonicorum; Four unidentified sermons, one on Psalm 98 and one on Deuteronomy 16.1; and Saint Basil's Epistola ad Monachos.

Provenance
- Written in England in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, and bound together no later than the 14th C. On recto of fol. 6 a table of contents corresponding to the present text and ownership note: "liber Will. Wynham/ Wintoniensis MCCClij"; on fol. 186v: "William Wynham." The arms on the cover suggest that it was in the possession of the fourth Duke of Newcastle (1785-1851). Descriptive catalogue entry no. 1331 fastened to inside cover (possibly from the seventh Duke of Newcastle's Clumber Library sale of 1937 or 1938). In the library of Phyllis Goodhart Gordan (bookplate) and John Dozier Gordan, Jr.; her bequest to Bryn Mawr College (bookplate) in 1995
