Summary

A pamphlet that details the proceedings from the House of Commons on 7th of December 1640. Mr. Hampden (John Hampden, opponent to King Charles) refused to pay the King's tax for levying ships as that is Parliament's job, not the King's. Because of this, the issue went to court. Seven judges sided with the Exchequer and five with Hampden. These proceedings suggest that the House of Commons was not happy with the ruling, stating that it goes against the laws of of the realm.
