Summary
Illuminated copy of the Qurʼān with four sets of dual-page illuminated openings, decorated sūrah headings and marginal medallions; two notes in Persian and a final prayer added.

Illuminations.Binding
Bound in yellow lacquered boards (Type III) with feather and flower designs in polychrome and gold with three frames of black with gold flowers, gold with polychrome flowers and black with gold vines and flowers. Inside covers are red with fine, gold flower and vine motifs. Endbands in purple and green.Layout
Decoration
Four sets of dual-page illuminated openings in gold and blue with red highlights. The first set is a carpet page with invocations in gold on a blue ground (f. [1]v-[2]r), the second is the opening sūrah (al-Fātiḥah) and the beginning of al-Baqarah with the text on cloudbands (f. [2]v-[3]r), the third is the following opening which has the text on cloudbands with illuminated floral marginal fill in gold, blue, red, and green (f. [3]v-[4]r) and the final set is the last opening of the text with al-Falaq and al-Nās each on one page, written on cloudbands, framed by red borders with a gold cartouche with blue end fill set above and below the red frame and all framed again in gold and lighter blue with floral inner margin fill and a pink outer rule with gold finials (f. [291]v-292). Several different types of marginal medallions show text divisions and verse count in gold and blue with blue and gold finials. Sūrah titles in red on a gold cartouche with medallions in gold and red on a blue field placed on either end, all set into a rectangle lined in red. Gold roundels lined in blue dots with light blue centers mark verse endings. Textblock is border-ruled in light blue, red, gold and blue. Readings in red.
