Summary

Photographische Studien (Photographic Studies). Leather-bound, gold-stamped album, containing 81 bromide or albumen photographs of various sizes mounted on leaves approximately 9 1/4" x 8." Stamped on colophon: "R. Schmid/Buchbinderei/Zurich." It appears that this album is made up of photographs taken by Albert Schuler as a travel souvenir and as pictorial studies for trips in Switzerland, by steamship to British Egypt, and among family and friends ca. 1895. Several of these photographs appear as photochromes in the Egyptian album with and without the embossed P.Z.
