- Initial I with St. Augustine trampling a king who represents pride
- This initial begins the first response of the first nocturn of Matins for the feast of St. Augustine of Hippo (Aug. 28), 'Invenit se Augustinus longe esse a Deo ...' (Augustine saw himself far from God).
- This image shows the reverse of a leaf with an historiated initial from an antiphonary. This side of the leaf, the true verso, contains the antiphons preceding the first response of the first nocturn of Matins for the feast of St. Augustine of Hippo.
- Begins the first antiphon of first Vespers for the feast of St. Augustine (Aug. 28), 'Letare, mater nostra ierusalem ...' (Rejoice, our Mother Jerusalem).
- Initial L with St. Augustine blessing three acolytes
- This image shows the reverse of a leaf with an historiated initial from an antiphonary. This side of the leaf, the true verso, continues the liturgy for Vespers for the feast of St. Augustine, which begins on the front.
