- Initial T with the Crucifixion
- This initial begins the Canon of the Mass with the words, 'Te igitur' (You therefore [most merciful Father]). This part of the Mass is the preparation for the Eucharist. An image of the Crucifix traditionally marks its beginning as a symbolic reminder of the meaning of the Eucharist.
