- Cartelle (op.cit.) believed that the present manuscript is the earliest surviving copy of which he was aware; he attributed the composition of the work within the orbit of the University of Montpellier in the early 14th century; Inscribed probably in Italy, 18th or 19th century, "Manuscritto del sec. XIV to. / dopo il 1350." (fol.19v); Silas Weir Mitchell (1829–1914) of Philadelphia, neurologist, President of the College of Physicians for two terms, from 1886 and 1892; College of Physicians: Library bookplate (front pastedown) inscribed with record of presentation by "S. Weir Mitchell, M.D.", and with a price of "( $ 9.36)"; a College Library ink stamp (fol.19v) with the original accession date "Dec. 29 1894"; the bookplate with an accession(?) number "10003", crossed through, and superseded by the reaccession number "54850", the latter corresponding to the (re) Accession Register, on October 4, 1910; with an oval blindstamp of the College Library (fol.8r)
