Summary

The greater part of Tosafot on Bava ḳama, a small portion of the same on Bava metsi῾a, and a whole of that on Bava batra.

• Folio 200v contains a memorandum referring to an oath by which a certain person binds himself not to gamble; by the side of it on the margin is written: Li-zekhut Shimshon bar Mevorakh.
   
• Matatyah ben Rafa'el: inscribed, folio 30r.
   
• Shelomoh: mentioned in a note of sale of this manuscript to a certain Natan: inscribed, folio 165v.

Layout

Columns: 1; ruled lines: 40; written lines: 40; Uniform layuot. Ruling with a hard-point and pricking are visible. The last line of text is written inside the ruling. Hair side and flesh side of the folios are distinguishable. Between folio 1r-165v some of the pages are arranged into two columns. Folios 166r-201v have catchowords on every verso. Many marginal notes and additions.

Script

Two different Ashkenazi semi-cursive scripts of the 14th to 15th century.

• Acquisition: Thomas Rodd the younger (b. 1796, d. 1849): purchased from him by the British Museum on 23 October 1847: MacDonald's sale, lot 161: inscribed, [202v].
