Layout

Columns: 1 2; ruled lines: 25; written lines: 24; Uniform layout. Visible pricking and plummet ruling. Initial words written in much larger characters. Hair side and flesh side hardly distinguishable.

Script

Ashkenazi square script, punctuated, of the 14th century.

• Acquisition: Adolphus Asher (b. 1800, d. 1853), Berlin bookseller and dealer to the British Museum (see 131-153: purchased from him on 12 June 1852: inscribed, folio 261v.
