Layout

Columns: 1 2; ruled lines: 10 21; written lines: 9 20; Uniform layout. Visible pricking and hard-point ruling. Initial words written in larger characters. Hair side and flesh side are distinguishable. Watermark on folio [381] of a monogram VCF. Numoerous marginal notes, containing a number of passages and phrases missing in the text, some variant readings, etc. Folios 206-222 were incorporated later. Accordingly, the catchword on folio 205v fits to the text on folio 223. Numerous words and passages have been crossed out by a censor (e.g., folios 2v, 7r, 7v, 12r, 15r, 29v, 33r, 46r, 68v, 71r, 159v-160r, 164r-164v, 165v-166r, 241v, 262v-263v, 309r, 319r).

Script

Ashkenazi square and semi-cursive script, partially punctuated. Yitsḥaḳ: the name Yitsḥaḳ is marked many times, e.g. folios 6v, 20v, 47r, 52r, 57r, 185v, 267r, 268v, 320r.

• Acquisition: Ḥanah bat Yeḥiel: given to her son Yeḳutiel as a gift on 23 Adar [5]280 [1520]: inscribed in a note (folio 380v).
