Columns: 1 2; ruled lines: 18 45; written lines: 18 45; In folios 1-77 there s only one column to a page, with 18 to 32 lines in each; in folios 78-153 the page is divided into two columns, with 30 to 45 lines in each column. Some marginal notes. Chapter titles and initial words of the chapters written in larger characters. Pricking and pen ruling visible.

Script

Different Ashkenazi cursive script of the 15th to 16th century.

Provenance

• Acquisition: Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 116: his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & Co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see 131-153: inscribed, folio [155v].
