Columns: 1; ruled lines: 11; written lines: 11; Uniform layout. Visible pricking and hard-point ruling. Initial words written in larger characters. Hair side and flesh side are distinguishable. Erased and rewritten paragraphs (e.g., folio 92v). Erased texts, presumably by a censor (e.g., folios 181r, 181v).

Script

Sefardi semi-cursive script, partially punctuated.

• Acquisition: Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 233: his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & Co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see 131-153.
