Columns: 1; ruled lines: 18 22; written lines: 18 22; Uniform layout. Initial words in large characters, parts of amulets written in the angelic alphabet (e.g., 41v, 44v). Catchwords on every verso. Diagrams, e.g., folio 42v, 46r, 58v, 73r, 86v, 98v-99r. Maniculae, folios 34v, 112v. Folio 3r is an unfinished title page, ornamented, in pen and ink.

Italian semi-cursive script of the 18th century.

Provenance

• Acquisition: Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 248: his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & Co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see 131-153): inscribed, folio [115v] (fse001v).
