• Water-damaged, especially upper and lower margins.
   
• The parchment flyleaf at the beginning and at the end: parts of Spanish calendar of the 14th to 15th century: [iv recto], [iv verso], [51r], [51v].
   
• Censored by Dominico Irosolomitano, Italian censor (active in the last quarter of the 16th and first quarter of the 17th century): inscribed with his name (folio 50v); see 61, and appendix § 62-74.
   
• Censored by Giovanni Domenico Carretto, Italian censor (active in the first quarter of the 17th century): inscribed with his name, 1628? (folio 50r); see 100-101, and appendix § 80-84.

Layout

Columns: 1; ruled lines: 39; written lines: 39; Uniform layout. Pricking and pencil ruling is visible. Initial words in each section is given in larger characters, and in red ink on folios 1r-10v. Last line written outside ruling. Some marginal notes and additions are present.

Script

Ashkenazi semi-cursive script of the 15th century.

Provenance

• Acquisition: Giuseppe Almanzi (b. 1801, d. 1860), bibliophile; his manuscript no. 291:his library including 322 medieval Hebrew manuscripts were purchased en bloc by the British Museum in October 1865 for £1,000 through Asher & Co., Berlin dealer to the British Museum (see 131-153: inscribed, folio [52v].
