Layout

Columns: 30; ruled lines: 15; written lines: 15; Uniform layout. Ruling by hard point, membrane by membrane. Visible pricking. Partial borders between columns, with floral decorations, in colours. Three tagin on שעטנזגץ. In the first nine columns the letters בדהחיק provided with only one tag. The names of the sons of Haman arranged in 11 lines, in accordance with the rule. Wooden roller (315mm high).

Sefardi square script of the 16th century.

Provenance

Acquisition: Bought by the British Museum in 1832, using the Bridgewater fund of £12,000 bequeathed in 1829 by Francis Henry Egerton, 8th Earl of Bridgewater (b. 1756, d. 1829).
