Outer end attached to roller with strip of grosgrain ribbon, sewing unravelling.
Handle or second acorn finial probably missing from case roller; half of outer end roller missing, broken end visible.

Layout

Columns: 16; ruled lines: 22; written lines: 22; Uniform layout. Ruling by hard point, membrane by membrane. Four columns per membrane, each written within decorated engravings. Two or three tagin on שעטנזגץ, one on בדהיחק, and the letter ח arched throughout. Several majuscular and minuscular letters. The names of the sons of Haman arranged in 11 lines, in accordance with the rule. Wooden rollers (173mm high).

Ashkenazi square script of the 16th to 17th century.
