The Pentateuch scroll.

Notes

Surface occasionally dry, dark and crazed.
A few delaminations.
Old repairs, including linen supports on verso, with glue stains.
Edge damage. Water marks in part.
Stained, with some degraded leather tearing.
Ink offset to verso from damp, flaking in places.

Layout

Columns: 188; ruled lines: 48; written lines: 48; Uniform layout. Ruling by hard point, membrane by membrane. Visible pricking and stitching. 188 columns in total, three to six columns per membrane. Three tagin on the letters שעטנזגץ. Special arrangement of lines of the Song of Moses, Ex. 15. The first דרש of Lev. 10:16 is written at the middle of the line. Puncta extraordinaria placed only on most of the words fixed by the masorah. Majuscular and minuscular letters occur. The inverted letter nun is placed before and after Num. 10:35-36. Some of the shaper of the letter ח is arched.
