Layout

Columns: 2; ruled lines: 24; written lines: 24; Uniform layout. Jonah, Zephaniah, Haggai and Malachi open a new column, and Hosea commences a new leaf. The beginning and the end of the Haftarot indicated in the margin, for the most part in red ink. Masorah magna in one to three lines in the lower margin of each page. The number of verses stated at the end of each book.

Script

Yemenite square script; Biblical text with Tiberian punctuation, Targum with Babylonian (superlinear) punctuation.

Provenance

• Acquisition: Moses Wilhelm Shapira (b. 1830, d. 1884), a antiquities dealer of Jerusalem: purchased by the British Library from him on 13 December 1879 (folio 323r).
