Layout

Columns: 2; ruled lines: 29; written lines: 29; Visible bifolio ruling with hard point. Zechariah opens a new column, and Jeremiah, Obadiah and Nahum commence a new leaf. The chapters have been numbered with Hebrew letters by a later hand, but not throughout the whole manuscript. Masorah magna occupies two lines in the upper and three in the lower margin of each page. The titles of the books are written at the top of the recto of each folio. A number of masoretic notes appear at the beginning of Jeremiah, 25r-25v.

Script

Sefardi square script of approximately 14th century.

Provenance

• Acquisition: Moses Wilhelm Shapira (b. 1830, d. 1884), a antiquities dealer of Jerusalem: purchased by the British Library from him on 23 July 1881, [120v].
