Layout

Columns: 2; ruled lines: 22; written lines: 22; Uniform layout. Several masoretic notes and rubrics. Pricking and ruling (with hard-point on the hair side of the folio) are visible.

Decoration

Full page drawing, in colours. 5 geometrical decorations at the beginning or at the end of certain biblical books, in colours. Numerous marginal decorations at the beginning of chapters, in red and brown ink.

Script

Oriental square script, punctuated, of 13th century.

Provenance

• Acquisition: Moses Wilhelm Shapira (b. 1830, d. 1884), an antiquities dealer of Jerusalem: purchased by the British Museum from him on 23 July 1881: inscribed ([126v]).
