A service book, according to the Yemenite rite.

Notes

• Leaves stuck on paper (modern restoration).
   
• Folios damaged at the beginning and at the end.
   
• Only about half of folio 212 preserved.
   
• Appended to the manuscript are the following fragments, originally portions of other manuscripts: folios 195r, 204v - Azharot of Solomon ibn Gabirol, followed by a series of hosh῾anot; folios 205r-211r - Keter malkhut of Solomon ibn Gabirol; folios 211v-212v - two poetical pieces; folio 213 - a calendar leaf on the years 5492-5505 (1732-1745). The first three parts belong most probably to the 17th century.
   
• Folios 44-45, which originally belonged to another manuscript, are now bound with the present manuscript just before shaḥarit of Rosh ha-Shanah. This fragment is also of 17th century. Folio 44r has a note, in a fading ink, of a viduy after the passing of Rabi Yehudah Zeruvavel.
   
• Folio 1r: a note of a former owner, Yosef Ben Shalom ben Yesha῾, written over an erasure originally occupied by another name.

• Acquisition: Moses Wilhelm Shapira (b. 1830, d. 1884), a antiquities dealer of Jerusalem: purchased by the British Museum from him on 23 July 1881: inscribed, folio [214v].
