Columns: 1; ruled lines: 34; written lines: 34; Uniform layout. Catchwords on every verso. Initial words given in larger, partly square and partly semi-cursive characters. Headings partly ornamented in pen and ink, in black or gold. Additions and corrections given in the margin. Lacunae in the text indicated by blank spaces.

Script

Oriental (Byzantine) semi-cursive of the 16th century. Ele῾azar ben ῾Ovadiah ha-Leṿi ha-Rofe: inscribed in the colophon, folio 261v.

Provenance

• Acquisition: Moses Wilhelm Shapira (b. 1830, d. 1884), a antiquities dealer of Jerusalem: purchased by the British Library from him on 10 October 1883: inscribed, folio [263v] (fse001v).
