Binding

Bound in dark brown leather with gilt stamped central diamond-shaped medallion and floral border. Purple and black marbled paper doublure.

Layout

14 ruled lines; border-ruled.

Decoration

Double page illuminated opening in gold, blue, pink, orange, green with text on cloudbands; margin fill of yellow and orange flowers with gold leaves. Textblock of the rest of the pages is gold-sprinkled with gold rules between each line and around the outside. Page opening is framed in a gold rule. Gold roundels mark verse endings. Sūrah headings and text divisions written in gold ink. Readings and some marginal comments in red.

Script

Written in naskh in black ink; pointed, vocalized.
